Marketing Manager (Lifestyle Group)

Reports to:      Managing Director (Lifestyle Group)

Contract:         Full Time Employed

Base:                Home based

Role Purpose:

Work with publishing, content, central marketing and commercial teams to support the growth of audiences across all platforms and commercial revenue by building consumer and trade marketing strategies for brands within the lifestyle group (wellbeing, coastal, technology, equine, hobbies and sport)

Duties and Responsibilities include:

  1. Create a consumer marketing strategy for each brand to include activity planned around consumer insight, seasonality, key events, awareness days, weeks etc and work with internal teams and external parties to implement, evaluate results and develop future strategy.
  2. Develop deep audience insights to inform audience growth (paid circulation and online), content and commercial strategies through a mix of quantitative and qualitative research, utilising online tools to generate quick insights and utilising various third party sources
  3. Develop marketing messaging and creative to engage consumers and commercial partners to achieve individual brands’ objectives
  4. Secure marketing partnerships with 3rd parties (including events, communities, groups, organisations) to engage audiences and work with the subscription marketing team to build high quality consumer data and achieve paid-subscription targets
  5. Evaluate the value of manage subscriber / membership clubs and work with the subscription marketing and content teams to ensure effective management to deliver agreed objectives.
  6. Evaluate the value of brand ambassador networks and manage live groups
  7. Develop viable new distribution channels, such as specialist retailers, for regular and irregular frequency products
  8. Co-ordinating digital content / marketing activity between content and marketing teams
  9. Work with publishers and content teams on brand development and potential product launches

Required skills & experience:

  • Consumer marketing qualification or experience
  • Experience of, or a passion for, developing various forms of consumer insight to inform strategy
  • Excellent communication skills – written, verbal and presentation
  • Excellent interpersonal skills required to liaise with key departments across the business, manufacturers, suppliers and other external partners
  • Analytical
  • Ability to work to deadlines
  • Strong Microsoft Office, especially Excel
