Directions by road:
From the M25, jcn4 – follow signs for A21 Bromley. From the spur road take the third exit at the first roundabout; at the next roundabout (by an Esso petrol station on the right and a parade of shop on the left) take the second exit. Continue to the next roundabout (a Ford dealership on the left) and take the first exit – this is Cudham Lane North.
From Bromley – take the A21 out of Bromley following signs for M25. At the Hayes traffic lights, continue straight on towards Bromley Common. At the Locksbottom junction, stay on the A21 past the traffic lights at the Farnborough village junction, straight on at two roundabouts. At the next roundabout, you’ll see a pub on the left-hand side and one on the right-hand side also. Take the third exit up Cudham Lane North.
From Orpington – take the A223 through Green Street Green, past Waitrose and the parade of shops on the left. A the roundabout, take the second exit onto Cudham Lane North. Alternatively, get onto the A224 and follow out to Hewitts Farm roundabout. Take the 5th exit on to the A21 for Bromley, the follow the directions as per “From the M25, jcn4”.
From Cudham Lane North – Continue up this road for about two miles; you’ll notice some black and white bollards on the right-hand side – dead slow here. Turn sharp right directly opposite another road on the left-hand side, the road goes steeply downhill, take another sharp left after just 50 metres. Follow this road steeply downhill; it bends to the right about 100m on and at the bottom of the hill is an entrance into Cudham Tithe Barn on the right-hand side. The courtyard visitors parking is on the right-hand side and the main entrance to the building is on the left as you turn into the courtyard.
Directions by train: nearest station is Knockholt, but train times are limited. For more frequent connections to and from London and on to the Kent coast, best use Orpington station where you’ll find plenty of cabs and the R5 bus which takes you to Cudham Lane North at the top by the Blacksmiths Arms pub.
NB: there is very little mobile phone reception in the vicinity of Cudham Tithe Barn. If in doubt, head for the Blacksmiths Arms on Cudham Lane North and call us from there. |

Directions by road:
From the south – come up the A1M, leaving at junction 17, following signs for Peterborough, A1139 (Frank Perkins or Fletton Parkway. Leave at junction 3 (signposted for City Centre, Serpentine Green) take the 1st exit at the top of the slip road marked A1260, City Centre, also known as the Nene Parkway.
From the north – join the A47 from the A1, follow signs for Peterborough until you get to junction 15. At the bottom of the roundabout, take the 2nd exit, following the A1260. Take the next exit marked “Thorpe Wood, City Centre”. At the top of the slip road, take the 1st exit, following the A1179 and signs for “City Centre”.
From the A1179 towards City Centre
Follow the A1179 and signs for “City Centre”. At the next roundabout, take the 2nd exit, continuing on the A1179, Thorpe Road. You’ll go over a railway bridge to another roundabout, taking the 4th exit (counting the bus depot and the no-entry street as an exit each) onto a dual-carriageway, the A15 Bourges Boulevard. Stay in the left hand lane and prepare to take the second road on your left - Wentworth Street. Follow this road to the end, bear left and 14 Priestgate is down a driveway on your left. Parking is straight ahead and clearly marked.
Directions by train: regular trains in and out of London Kings Cross. East Coast Mainline (National Express) trains from main cities such as Doncaster, Darlington, York, Newcastle, Edinburgh).
There are loads of cabs outside the station most of the time, but it’s quicker and easier to walk.
From the station entrance, turn right and walk round past the Great Northern Hotel in the direction of the footpath towards the multi-storey car park, bearing right on the pathway, which has blue signs marking the city centre. Turn right and go through the subway, taking the first set of stairs on your left after you’ve gone under the roundabout. At the top of the stairs turn left and walk down Cowgate towards the city centre. At the restaurant Prezzo, turn right down Cross street. At the end of that road, turn left into Priestgate (Ask restaurant will be across the road on your right). Walk down Priestgate, and No 14 will be across the road on the right, down a gated entrance set away from the road. |
